American Imperialism with Uncle Sam

              This political cartoon addresses American Imperialism trying to take over the whole world. You can see this because Uncle Sam is holding on to Earth as if he wants it all for himself. The cartoonist believes that America wouldn't ever stop trying to take over. I believe this because in the cartoon it reads, "Now, will he let go? If you think he will let go, then you don't know him." Some people might see this as bad because they want to have their own countries and not all be America. One technique used was symbolism. The cartoonist used Uncle Sam to show what America was trying to do. The cartoonist also used labeling. this was to show what Sam was holding onto. My claim was that America can sometimes go to far in their quest for manifest destiny and this cartoon clearly shows that.
